Method
- Butter one side of each bread slice evenly, spreading to the edges.
- Place bread butter-side down and sprinkle cheese evenly on half of the slices.
- Top with remaining bread slices, butter-side facing up.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and cook sandwiches until golden brown on the first side.
- Flip carefully and cook until the second side is golden and cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from pan, rest for 1 minute, then cut each sandwich into quarters.
Notes
- Keep heat on medium-low to avoid burning
- Grated cheese melts faster and more evenly
- Best served immediately for maximum crispness
