Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 12 –15 strawberries rinsed and dried
  • Wooden skewers

Method

  1. Thoroughly dry the strawberries and thread them onto skewers.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until bubbling and thickened (5–7 minutes).
  3. Test the syrup by dipping a spoon into cold water — it should harden into a crisp shell.
  4. Dip each skewer into the syrup, turning to coat. Let excess drip off.
  5. Place on parchment or dip in ice water to set the shell quickly.
  6. Serve immediately once the sugar coating hardens.

Notes

Do not refrigerate. Use dry, firm fruit for best results.
