Method
- Prepare cake mix per box instructions. Bake in a greased 9x13 pan. Let cool 15 minutes.
- Poke holes all over cake with the handle of a wooden spoon.
- In a bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk (add cream cheese if using) until slightly thickened.
- Pour pudding mixture over cake, spreading to fill holes. Chill for 1 hour.
- Spread whipped topping over pudding layer.
- Add strawberry pie filling or fresh strawberries on top.
- Garnish with crushed graham crackers. Chill another hour before serving.
Notes
- Chill longer for a firmer set.
- Use stabilized whipped cream if making from scratch.
- Great make-ahead dessert!
