Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheet with parchment.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, sour cream, and vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk dry ingredients. Mix into wet until just combined.
- Scoop dough, roll into balls, and flatten slightly.
- Bake 8–10 minutes until just set. Cool completely.
- For frosting, beat butter, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Add food coloring if using.
- Frost cooled cookies and top with sprinkles.
Notes
For extra soft cookies, don’t overbake. Frosting can be tinted any color for holidays.
