- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
- Season shrimp with 1/2 teaspoon salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side, until pink, opaque, firm, and cooked to 145°F.
- Transfer shrimp to a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Add remaining 3 tablespoons butter to the skillet.
- Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
- Add broth, lemon juice, lemon zest, remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Simmer gently for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and toss in the lemon butter sauce for about 30 seconds.
- Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
- Serve warm with lemon slices.
