Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Garlic Butter
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese optional

Method
 

  1. Combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil; mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead for 6–8 minutes until smooth. Cover and rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Divide dough into small pieces, roll into ropes, and tie into loose knots.
  5. Place on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 14–16 minutes, until lightly golden.
  7. Mix garlic butter ingredients and brush generously over warm knots.
  8. Sprinkle with parmesan if using and serve warm.

Notes

  • Brush garlic butter immediately after baking
  • Do not overbake to keep knots soft
  • Parmesan is optional but adds extra flavor
  • Best served fresh, but reheats well in the oven
