Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups (340g) chocolate chips or chunks

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop dough onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake 9–11 minutes. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use a mix of milk and dark chocolate for richer flavor.
  • Don’t overbake—cookies will firm up as they cool.
