Ingredients
  

  • 1 round or oval artisan bread loaf
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheese blend
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley or Italian seasoning

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Cut bread in a crosshatch pattern without slicing through the bottom.
  3. Mix melted butter, garlic, and seasonings.
  4. Drizzle butter mixture deep into bread cuts.
  5. Stuff shredded cheese evenly into each cut.
  6. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake 5 more minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Rest briefly and serve warm.

Notes

  • Don’t overstuff the bread
  • Cover with foil first to prevent burning
