Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup pecans
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk (or 14 oz sweetened condensed milk for no-churn)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • (Optional for churned version: 4 egg yolks)

Method
 

  1. Toast pecans in butter, then cool.
  2. For churned version: Make custard base by cooking milk, cream, sugar, and yolks, then chill.
  3. For no-churn version: Whip cream and fold in condensed milk, vanilla, and pecans.
  4. Churn or freeze mixture in container until firm.
  5. Let sit a few minutes before scooping.

Notes

  • Use browned butter for extra flavor
  • Add caramel or bourbon for variations
