Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or mixed dried herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional
  • Lemon slices optional, for baking/serving
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or dill optional, for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Place salmon fillets skin-side down. Pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Brush salmon with olive oil. Sprinkle garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper evenly over each fillet.
  4. Drizzle with lemon juice and add lemon slices on top if using.
  5. Bake 12–15 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork (thicker fillets may need 16–18 minutes).
  6. Rest 2 minutes, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake—salmon dries out fast. Start checking at 12 minutes.
  • For extra flavor, add a small pat of butter on each fillet before baking.
  • Great sides: roasted veggies, rice, salad, or garlic green beans.
